About Baidyanath Dham Temple
Baidyanath Dham Temple is one of the famous Jyotirlinga in twelve Jyotirlinga of India. Baidyanath Dham is also known as Baba Dham. It is located in Deoghar district of Jharkhand state. Deoghar is cultural capital of Jharkhand. Deoghar is one of the top pilgrimage center of Jharkhand and even India. Every year July-August is celebrated as a holy month in Deoghar. According to hindu calender Shravan (Saawan) month falls between july and august every year. This months lakhs of people visited Deoghar to offer the holy water of river ganga to God Shiva, brought from Ajgaibinath (Sultanganj) located in Bihar. Distance between Sultanganj to Deoghar is about 120 KM. Devotee cover this distance by foot in three to four days, with saffron colour dress and decorated 'Kaanwar'. The history of Baidyanath Dham Temple is very ancient. Its contemporary design attract the pilgrimage tourist or devotee of Lord Shiva.

Taxi provided by different travel agencies is one of the best transportation medium to reach Deoghar. Private road ways buses are also available from Ranchi, Kolkata, Asansol, Dhanbad, Bhagalpur etc.
